Calgary, Canada —May 10, 2010—Multiplied Media Corporation (TSX:V MMC), a leading provider of mobile local search services, today announced an update to its free, all-in-one local search application Poynt, now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch from the iTunes App Store. The new update to Poynt includes changes to the appearance of the app as well as to the way the app interacts with the iPhone to ensure the ultimate user experience.

Poynt connects iPhone users to businesses, movies, retailers, restaurants and people. Poynt utilizes unique augmented reality capabilities that overlay search results with the real-world environment as viewed through the iPhone’s camera, providing the user with a powerful augmented local search experience.

Poynt users will now have the option of changing the look and feel of the application’s home screen to work best with how they use their device. Previously Poynt’s search categories were solely displayed on a movable carousel. Now with this update, users have the option to pinch and spread the icons into a static grid format, making the selection of a search category quick and easy. Users can easily move between the two home screen options as they see fit.

Poynt has also updated its call gesture feature, offering users a robust in-app calling solution tapping into the iPhone’s proximity sensor and accelerometer. When a user finds a restaurant, business or person using Poynt they can simply hold the phone to their face and Poynt will automatically dial the contact, restaurant or business phone number.
